San Francisco Bay Area (On-site)

Job Description

Build the Operating System Behind the Future of AI Software Engineering

At StackGen, we are building the Autonomous DevOps Factory—an AI-powered platform that transforms how enterprises build, deploy, and operate software.

As we enter our next stage of growth, we are looking for a VP, Finance & Business Operations to partner closely with our CEO and leadership team in building the operating system behind the business.

This is not a traditional finance role. You will lead strategic finance, business operations, revenue operations, planning, and executive execution, helping StackGen scale with discipline, predictability, and capital efficiency. Working directly with the CEO, Board, and executive leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's next phase of growth.

If you are excited about building systems, driving execution, and helping scale a category-defining AI company, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Strategic Finance

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
  • Own Board reporting, investor reporting, and fundraising support.
  • Manage cash flow, runway planning, and capital allocation.
  • Develop pricing strategies and SaaS unit economics.
  • Build scalable financial models to support long-term growth.
  • Oversee accounting, compliance, audits, and financial controls.

Business Operations

  • Build executive dashboards and company-wide KPIs.
  • Drive quarterly planning, OKRs, and annual operating plans.
  • Establish operating rhythms that improve accountability and execution.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to improve decision-making across the business.

Revenue Operations

  • Improve forecasting accuracy and pipeline visibility.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to optimize the revenue funnel.
  • Define and monitor key SaaS metrics, including ARR, pipeline, CAC, and LTV.

Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, translating company strategy into operational execution.
  • Prepare Board materials and executive reporting.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and cross-functional execution.
  • Help leadership prioritize, execute, and scale effectively.

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Business Operations, or Revenue Operations.
  • Experience scaling a high-growth B2B SaaS company, ideally from Seed through Series C.
  • Strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, fundraising, and Board reporting.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, pricing strategy, unit economics, and revenue operations.
  • Experience building finance and operational processes from the ground up.
  • Proven experience partnering with founders and executive leadership teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence decisions through data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will have:

  • Built a predictable financial operating model with reliable forecasting.
  • Established company-wide operational rhythms and KPI reporting.
  • Improved revenue visibility and forecast accuracy.
  • Strengthened capital efficiency and supported fundraising efforts.
  • Become a trusted strategic partner to the CEO, enabling the company to scale with discipline and confidence.

Why This Role Is Different

Most finance leadership roles focus on reporting the business. This role focuses on building the business.

You will have broad ownership across finance, business operations, revenue operations, strategic planning, and executive execution. You'll work alongside the CEO and leadership team to build the operational foundation that enables StackGen to scale into a category-defining AI company. This is an opportunity to shape company strategy, influence fundraising, improve execution, and help define the next chapter of StackGen's growth. For the right leader, this role offers a unique path to becoming one of the company's most influential executives.

Why Join StackGen?

At StackGen, we are reimagining how enterprise software is built and delivered through AI. You'll join an ambitious team at a pivotal stage, working directly with experienced founders, the Board, and investors. Your decisions will shape how the company operates, scales, and grows, while helping build the operational foundation for a company defining the future of AI-powered software engineering.

If you are excited by the opportunity to build, scale, and lead—not just report on results—we would love to hear from you.
