The Pre-Sales Solution Architect will partner with sales, product, and customer success teams to design and present StackGen’s Agentic Infrastructure & Autonomous Platform solutions for enterprise customers across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role combines deep hands-on infrastructure and DevOps expertise with exceptional communication skills to demonstrate how StackGen’s AI agents and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) management capabilities can automate provisioning, governance, observability, and incident remediation across the full infrastructure lifecycle aligned with customer SRE and platform engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead technical discovery with prospects to understand current DevOps, platform engineering, and SRE workflows, IaC usage, and governance/compliance requirements, and map them to StackGen’s autonomous infrastructure capabilities.
-
Design target-state architectures and solution proposals leveraging StackGen’s AI agents and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) management capabilities to automate provisioning, policy enforcement, drift management, incident remediation, and cost optimization.
-
Build and deliver tailored demos and PoCs that showcase “intent to infrastructure” workflows, selectable autonomy levels (Copilot to Autopilot), and integration with existing CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native toolchains.
-
Create and present technical value narratives and business cases that quantify benefits such as reduction in manual platform work, faster time-to-production, fewer security and production incidents, and improved developer productivity.
-
Respond to RFPs/RFIs and own the technical win in complex deals, including architecture reviews, security and compliance deep dives (CIS, NIST, FedRAMP, HIPAA), and alignment with enterprise governance standards.
-
Collaborate with product management to feedback customer requirements, patterns, and competitive insights, influencing StackGen’s agent roadmap and platform evolution.
-
Partner with Customer Success and Delivery teams to ensure smooth handoff from pre-sales to implementation, including documenting solution architectures, integration points, and success metrics.
Required experience
-
7+ years in solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical consulting for cloud, DevOps, or platform engineering products, selling into mid-market and enterprise accounts.
-
Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and strong familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Helm, including real-world production deployments.
-
Proven track record leading technical evaluations, PoCs, and workshops for complex B2B infrastructure or DevOps platforms, ideally involving automation, observability, or compliance tooling.
-
Experience engaging platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, and security teams, and navigating large enterprise decision processes involving architecture, security, and procurement stakeholders.
-
Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitOps, observability stacks, and common DevOps toolchains that StackGen integrates with via its integration layer.
Skills and qualifications
-
Expert in designing cloud architectures that emphasize automation, security, reliability, and cost optimization, and in articulating trade-offs to senior technical and business stakeholders.
-
Ability to explain and demonstrate AI-powered/agentic infrastructure concepts (e.g., self-building, self-governing, self-healing, self-optimizing infrastructure) to both highly technical and non-technical audiences.
-
Strong presentation, whiteboarding, and storytelling skills, comfortable leading remote and in-person sessions with C-level, VP-level, and senior engineering leaders.
-
Comfortable building demo environments and prototypes that highlight StackGen’s AI control plane, continuous learning, autonomy levels, and integrations with existing customer environments.
-
Nice to have: experience with security and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, FedRAMP, HIPAA), observability/OSS stacks, and prior exposure to AI/ML-driven DevOps or AIOps platforms.
What success looks like
-
Consistently driving strong technical win rates by clearly differentiating StackGen’s agentic infrastructure approach from traditional IaC and automation tools.
-
Shortening sales cycles by running crisp, outcome-focused evaluations that demonstrate rapid time-to-value (e.g., initial deployment within weeks and high levels of infrastructure automation).
-
Becoming a trusted advisor to customers and an internal champion for the voice of the customer, helping StackGen refine its platform for autonomous, AI-driven infrastructure at scale.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Computer Science or similar degree
-
Previous experience as a sales engineer, technical sales, or similar role preferably at an enterprise software company, a SaaS company, or Systems Integrator
-
Previous experience as an implementation consultant for Cloud Deployments, DevOps or AI solutions
